Rigid Foam Insulation for Attics in Memphis & the Mid-South
Rigid foam insulation is one of the most effective ways to stop energy loss in key areas of your attic. While blown-in insulation covers large open spaces, rigid foam is used to insulate and seal critical problem areas where air and heat commonly escape.
Everhome installs rigid foam insulation as part of a complete attic efficiency system to improve comfort, reduce energy bills, and protect your home year-round.
Durable Insulation
Rigid foam and air sealing fill gaps in your attic structure.
Where Air Leaks Happen
Rigid foam insulation is a dense, durable board insulation that provides a high R-value per inch. It is ideal for sealing and insulating areas where traditional insulation cannot perform effectively.
It is commonly installed around:
- Attic access doors
- Knee walls
- Rim joists
- HVAC platforms
- Irregular framing areas
- Areas prone to air leakage
Why Rigid Foam Is Critical in Attics
Many attics lose energy through small gaps and exposed framing that blown insulation can’t properly seal. Rigid foam creates a thermal and air barrier in these locations.
This helps:
- Prevent hot attic air from entering the home
- Stop conditioned air from escaping
- Improve overall attic insulation performance
- Support proper air sealing
Signs Your Attic Needs Rigid Foam Insulation
Drafts coming from attic access
Uneven temperatures in rooms below the attic
High energy bills despite having attic insulation
Visible exposed framing or knee walls
HVAC equipment located in attic
Our Rigid Foam Installation Process
- Identifying air leakage and heat transfer points
- Measuring and cutting rigid foam to fit precisely
- Sealing edges to prevent airflow
- Integrating rigid foam with existing insulation and air sealing measures
How Rigid Foam Works with Your Complete Attic System
Rigid foam is not a standalone solution. It works best when combined with:
Common Applications Include:
Rigid foam insulation panels offer superior durability, moisture resistance, and thermal performance—making them ideal for areas where blown cellulose isn’t practical. The panels can be custom-cut to fit your attic structure, helping to seal gaps, improve efficiency, and enhance comfort throughout your home.
Multi-level attics
Ideal for homes with complex attic layouts that need structured insulation.
Attic super decks
Provides solid insulation beneath raised flooring or decking.
Attic catwalks
Ensures stability and insulation where accessibility is needed.
Attic walls
Adds an additional thermal barrier to keep conditioned air inside.
Foamax® rigid foam insulation provides a complete attic insulation solution
At Everhome, we use Foamax® rigid foam insulation to upgrade your attic insulation. Foamax® is a polyiso rigid foam that comes with a reflective foil on the back to provide a radiant barrier. Polyiso rigid foam has the highest R-value of any rigid foam insulation. Once installed, Foamax® serves to prevent heat transfer between the attic and living space, helping to improve your home’s energy efficiency and comfort. Rigid foam insulation is usually also installed with air sealing upgrades for maximum effectiveness and results. We can evaluate your attic and recommend the best solution for your needs.
